Fundamentals of Dance
Recommended Ages: 8-14 years old
Classes begin on September 24th and will be from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM on Thursday of each week for 8 weeks. Tuition for this class is $200.
ABOUT THE CLASS:
This fun and fast-paced 8-week class introduces young dancers to the core styles of jazz, musical theatre, and tap. Each week, students will explore the foundational techniques of each genre, while building strength, coordination, musicality, and stage presence.
Dancers will learn basic steps, across-the-floor progressions, and short choreography combinations in all three styles, with a focus on performance quality and storytelling through movement. Whether your child is new to dance or looking to strengthen their skills, this class offers a well-rounded introduction in a supportive, engaging environment.
The Flowertown Players Education Committee believes that theatre education should be accessible to all children and are happy to offer partial or full financial assistance to qualifying families through our scholarship program. Please email md@flowertownplayers.org to begin the application process. Applications will be reviewed and eligible scholarships granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Spots are limited and are not guaranteed.
