Community Events

As a community theatre, we want to not only bring quality theatre to our community through the Flowertown Players and Flowertown Blossoms, but give our community access to other mediums of art.  Here you will find events the James F. Dean Theatre is hosting in partnership with other artists in the community.

He’s cute, clever and almost five. He’s Tuffy Tiger and he’s coming to Flowertown! Tuffytiger Productions, a 501c3 nonprofit theatre is collaborating with Flowertown Players of Summerville to produce Tuffytastic Saturdays! Live-action puppet-based performances featuring the little orange tiger, Tuffy, who's experiences reinforce positive life lessons and habits for children through his honorable, endearing and gentle nature.

The series of 6 free 30-minute performances will be filled with multiple puppets and original music, and will be showcased on the first Saturday of each month September through February at 11am in the Flowertown Players Blackbox. After each performance young audiences will be invited to create puppets of their very own and meet n’ greet with Tuffy.

Be in the audience to witness firsthand a real-life theatrical presentation of a 1940s radio show with a modern twist!

Shortwave Kitsch will be returning to the Flowertown Players on Saturday, October 8 with a double feature at 2:30 and 7:30, featuring new episodes of "A Hog Killin' Time" and "Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity."
