About The Education Program:
Get ready to have fun, think on your feet, and bring your wildest ideas to life! Improv allows actors to perform without rehearsing the specifics of scenes or characters. It is a key element of acting, as it teaches performers to be
spontaneous, creative, SILLY, and to think outside the box. In this workshop, students will learn the basics of improv with techniques to get them comfortable with quick thinking and reactions, being present onstage, and performing. We will be learning to say, “Yes…and” by exploring differing forms of improv, from short form (games) to long form (storytelling). Using game-based learning, students will be not only developing performance skills, but also learning to trust their instincts and improving creativity, problem solving, communication, teamwork, and adaptability. Students will showcase their quick wit and talent through a showcase in the final class.
