About The Education Program:
In this non-musical performance-based class, students will learn the fundamentals of acting while bringing a show to full production. Includes a chance for students interested in technical theatre to be a part of the process as well.
The Flowertown Players Education Committee believes that theatre education should be accessible to all children and is happy to offer partial or full financial assistance to qualifying families through our scholarship program. Please email email@example.com to begin the application process. Applications will be reviewed and eligible scholarships granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Spots are limited and are not guaranteed.
About The Show:
Girl loves boy. Boy loves girl. Dad hates the boy but wants the daughter to be with another… who someone else loves. Magical forest. Crazy actors. Ridiculous fairies. Mixed-up love potions. A donkey’s head.
This sparkling adaptation of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is the perfect hybrid, with the play feeling timeless, yet having modern references to things in today’s world, like cell phones, Uber, and cute shoes. Likewise, the names of the characters are true to Shakespeare’s classic, yet the language is contemporary… with just a few original monologues to heighten the educational value of this play. It will be a dream come true as you help young actors and audiences discover — and understand — the delight of Shakespeare’s most popular comedy!
