DUN DUN DUUUH...
Both adultery and murder are in the air in Dartmoor, England at the stylish weekend retreat of the affluent Derek and Janet Taylor. The punctuated British humor of author Rupert Holmes seeps through as audiences’ learn each character’s devious motivation in this murder, mystery, comedy. This electrifying game of trickery has more twists and turns than The Smiler Roller Coaster at Alton Towers in the UK. "The best fooler since Slueth and twice as clever!" said the L.A. Times, while L.A. Theatre &Entertainment Review proclaimed it, " the comedy thriller of all comedy thrillers!"
Director Susie Hallatt has directed and acted throughout the US and England, “I love anything British, and this play is essentially an English thriller with a pretty neat American surprise at the end. I can't wait to help the cast unravel the story then twist it back up for our audience!” She proclaimed. Susie is pleased to be directing her first Lowcountry show, having been previously seen as Eleanor in No Sex, Please, We’re British and as Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest with The Flowertown Players. She has appeared in many Charleston productions, including Almost, Maine and Steel Magnolias with Midtown Productions, South Pacific, Oklahoma! for the Footlight players, The House of Blue Leaves, Souvenir and Into the Woods at the Village Playhouse and Blythe Spirit, Ragtime and A Christmas Carol with Charleston Stage. Audience members can expect to be “amused, amazed, confused, shocked, and I hope Director Susie leave the theatre having enjoyed every minute of it," says Hallatt.
"Part murder mystery, part sex farce and completely entertaining...suspenseful, charming and funny," Says USA Today. When asked if she could give away any secrets about the show Hallatt replied, “Nope. Well, one secret. There'sa big... nope, I won't spoil it.” Guess you’ll all have find a seat for this sexy tale of love and deceit.
